I broke my finger and it healed bent / crooked. If I re-break it & splint it immediately, will it heal normal?

My uncle has the same problem on about 8 of his fingers because when he was in Airborne he would jump and the strap would jerk and he had his fingers under them. I would recommend seeing a doctor about getting it fixed, they can do it properly and without causing more damage.
