I'm hurt and can't work, what can I do?

I recently quit my job to start a new one and during my free time between jobs I injured myself. I severed my achilles tendon and am currently wearing a boot which prevents me from starting the job I had lined up. I was wondering if anyone knows of anything I can do to get some money to pay bills and buy food? I'm hurting financially and can't wait 8-10 weeks for a paycheck.
